Week 6 in Review
We have now finished the 6th week of school. Last week was an odd week for K4. Charli was out sick all week and we really missed her. I especially missed her during rest time as she usually keeps me company. We had a little difficulty on Tuesday which resulted in our only having 2 girls for the rest of the week. I didn't want them to get to far ahead of the others so we kinda took it easy on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I pulled some worksheets for them to do in fun things like dot to dot or color by numbers and we did a couple of easy fun crafts. Looking forward to everyone being back on Monday and a great week of learning. I am also looking forward to our finally having a boy in our class either this week or next. He has been living in Alaska and I think this will be great for the other children!!

Week 5
Wow!!! Can you believe we have been in school 5 weeks already!!!!!???? We had a great 5th week of school and have been very fortunate in our class with all the sickness going around. With the exception of Nikki being out, we only had to send 1 child home early and 1 was absent for non sickness reasons....Let's try and keep it that way K4!!! This week we continued learning our vowels. Please use this word with your child and see if they can tell you the vowels (a,e,i,o,u). We added a new number [6] and a new letter [t]. The kids began learning to write their numbers beginning with 1. They were making some awesome 1's. We celebrated 9/11 or Patriot Day with yummy red, white and blue cupcakes made by Ms Stokes' mom. We also took a picture to send to Mr Rowells of our class with the American flag. By now we are doing all 3 pledges and this week will be adding in the singing of My Country 'Tis of Thee.

Week 4 Recap
Can you believe that we have been in school for 4 weeks??!!! We welcomed in a new month with a short week. We start each day in our class by saying "Today is [day of the week], September ##,2012" then we assign our jobs for the day and say how many days we have been in school, today was 22. Our daily jobs are Line Leader, Blessing Leader, Flag Holder, and Chairs (this person puts out the chairs before snack and puts them back up after lunch). The 1st question I am asked each day is what is my job?. We added the letter Oo this week and the number 5. Today was a great day with Grandparents Appreciation Day. We enjoyed having the grandmas and grandpas visit with us for cookies and lemonade. Thanks to the Home Ec class for making the cookies. They were awesome!!!! You should have received a letter in your child's homework packet with some activities for September. Our class has decided to adopt one of our wonderful military personnel serving overseas. We will be praying for and sending cards and letters to one of our friend from class' daddy. Have a great weekend!!!
Week 3 in Review
I am so sorry it took me a while to get the update for week 3 up. We had a rough week in our class. One of our friends from class was diagnosed with cancer. As I come from a family that is so super blessed to have had only 2 children in 2 generations with major health issues, this really hit me hard. All I have said to the other girls is that she is sick and will not be in school for a very long time. We have made her cards and will periodically send her stuff from her school family. School must go on so we worked at tracing our vowels and on our numbers 1-4. Our Bible story was about Noah.
